Take a look at this SG and you'll notice quite a change. And even if you don't like them, spending 20 bucks each on them won't hurt your back pocket, and they'll be easy to on-sell. Don't write them off just because of price.
GFS have had many glowing reviews, and a lot of forumites have GFS pups installed in their guitars. It's based on what YOU think sounds good. Simply assuming that price dictates how good certain pups sound is stupid. I upgraded the pickups in my Epiphone Sheraton to GFS Mean90s and I think that the tone I achieve now is close to many so called 'high-end' pups.
